ASPIRATIONAL… Let’s bust a myth we have had enough experience of this, railway First Class Lounges are like 5 star hotels? WRONG! They have to feel luxurious but cope with higher customer volumes, very high churn rates and for long extended periods, furniture has to be uprated. The spaces need flexibility to accommodate for the single traveller or couples and large groups, from business to leisure, regular customers expect quality whereas trading up newer customers need an aspirational experience. We have been lucky enough to design for long-haul rail customers it’s such an interesting sector unlike any others, Virgin Trains were a fabulous client for over 20 years they were prepared to push the boundaries for something different, we got to convert some amazing spaces including a 2* listed cab arch.
